Solana setup

Associated Token Accounts and rent-exemption. Sandbox runs on Devnet. That's a different cluster from Solana's testnet, and from mainnet-beta.

Associated Token Accounts (ATAs)

Before a wallet can hold a given SPL token, it needs its own token account for that token, created and funded to be rent-exempt. The idea is similar to a Stellar trustline, but the mechanics are different, so please follow this page for Solana.

Rent-exemption

Creating an ATA needs a rent-exempt lamport balance. If the ATA is underfunded, holds and receives will fail.

As an issuer: Mode 1 delegation

On Solana, Mode 1 would need the engine to have authority to call a burn instruction on your SPL token program. A couple of things are still missing:

  • The Solana sandbox adapter is currently ephemeral, and the live Devnet program client hasn't been deployed yet (B9.2b.4). Finality on Solana is signature-based. A comment in the adapter warns against reusing the EVM confirmation-depth helpers when the live client is added.
  • The Mode 1 delegation mechanism for Solana issuers (program ID, instruction format and how delegation authority is set up) still needs confirming by the Nuvanté engineering team.

Just like EVM, Mode 1 on Solana is a design target for now. Talk to your Nuvanté integration team before you plan for it.
